Our Unique Ayurvedic Process for Purifying Guggul

We have developed a unique procedure. First, we break big Guggul pieces into small pieces, then we make extra-small pieces from those small pieces. Then we boil three herbs — {Amla, Haritaki and Bibhitaki} called Triphala — which are three fruits with a lot of fiber. We boil these three herbs according to Ayurveda, that is, the three doshas; it neutralizes any side effect of Guggul on any dosha.

Then we take the Triphala water and put the very minutely made crystals or pieces of Guggul in that hot Triphala water and soak it without putting any heat on it. Hot water, the Guggul, which is already in small pieces, starts dissolving. Then we put it on very low heat because Guggul is already in small pieces and its gum starts dissolving; still Triphala has astringent property due to the presence of Amla, which helps to dissolve every nutrient of the Guggul in the Triphala water.

Then, after this process, when the Guggul gets dissolved, we keep that big pot aside to cool for 30–40 minutes. This makes all impurities of Guggul settle down and purified Guggul water floats and then the water is double-filtered with muslin cloth into another pot. The less-power impurities, mixing with other herbs, are used as samagri (an Ayurvedic herbal mixture that is burned with camphor to help destroy airborne viruses, infections, and environmental impurities) and the Guggul water is dried in sun-shadow in summer; in winter, we put it in the oven under low heat in the dryer.

The Triphala water helps to dry the Guggul without using maltodextrin, talcum powder or any drying agent. The fiber content in the Triphala water helps to dry the sticky gums of Guggul, so in this way Guggul is free from any additives, preservatives or drying agents.

After that, the Guggul made with Triphala water is dried, ground and ready to pack. This is the process we use to purify Guggul and this home-developed technique has been refined through approximately 90 years of experience. We will also share pictures of Guggul powder with you.

Every process involved is based on technical expertise and scientific background and in this way, every molecule and nutrient is dissolved, preserved and derived from Guggul gum. We do not use any alcohol or dissolving chemicals — herbs work for herbs.
