FAQ

General Questions

1. What is Ayurveda?

2. How does Ayurvedic supplement work?

Ayurveda works by balancing the three doshas Vata (air), Pitta (fire) and Kapha (water) in the body. It utilizes natural herbs, dietary adjustments, meditation and yoga to promote well-being.

3. What are the main benefits of Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is a holistic system that emphasizes balance between the body, mind, and environment. Its practices aim to support natural digestion, encourage mental clarity, promote a sense of calm and focus, and help maintain skin and physical vitality. Rooted in nature, Ayurveda focuses on aligning daily habits—like food, lifestyle and herbal support— with your unique body constitution (dosha) to promote overall well-being.

6. How can I determine my Ayurvedic body type (dosha)?

In Ayurveda, a dosha is your unique mind-body constitution, which reflects how your body functions and responds to the world around you. There are three primary doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha — and each individual has a unique combination of these energies in varying proportions.

Your dosha can be determined by observing your physical traits, emotional tendencies, digestion patterns, and lifestyle preferences. While self-assessment quizzes offer a general idea, a more accurate understanding can be gained through consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner.

In Ayurveda, doshas are the three fundamental energies that govern our physical and mental characteristics:

  • Vata (Air & Ether): Associated with movement, creativity, and energy flow
  • Pitta (Fire & Water): Linked to digestion, transformation, and metabolism
  • Kapha (Earth & Water): Reflects stability, structure, and nourishment

We work directly with trusted farmers, foragers, and cooperatives, supporting local communities while helping preserve traditional knowledge and practices. In India, there are many designated herbal zones, and each year, only one zone is opened for wild collection, while the others remain protected. This rotation allows harvested areas to naturally regenerate over several years before being accessed again. Wild collection is strictly regulated by government authorities. Only licensed collectors — experts with deep knowledge of the local ecology — are permitted to enter and gather herbs. This careful system protects biodiversity, ensures the sustainability of natural resources, and promotes healthier, more vibrant ecosystems.

Through these practices, we aim to contribute to environmental sustainability and ethical herbal sourcing, keeping nature’s balance intact for generations to come.

We use clear vegetarian capsules instead of tablets to maintain product purity and transparency. Many of the herbs traditionally used in Ayurveda grow naturally in forest regions and have been harvested without chemical intervention for centuries. While modern organic certification is being adopted for some cultivated herbs in India, most Ayurvedic herbs are inherently grown in chemical-free environments. For food items like grains and spices, we take extra care in sourcing from regions that follow responsible farming practices.

18. How are HerbsForever products manufactured?

HerbsForever products are crafted using traditional Ayurvedic methods, with a strong focus on seasonality and sourcing. We procure A-grade raw herbs from their natural habitats, only during their peak harvest times—when they are considered most potent. Each herb is chosen with care, as certain regions in India are traditionally known for producing the highest quality of specific plants. We manufacture in small batches to maintain quality and freshness, drawing from a selection of over 2,000 herbs used in classical Ayurveda.

31. ) Hi, I have question for bitter melon extract powder. I see it is not organic, however I question what content of herbicide or pesticide in might contain?
Sometimes company does not have organic certification but the herbs or product is not sprayed. Is the bitter melon powder free of chemical sprays?

First of all, we are a certified organic company and the majority of our herbs are certified organic. However, at the moment, we are not listing the organic certification on our website due to some pending paperwork with the certification department. Until that paperwork is finalized, we are refraining from labelling the products as “certified organic” online. This does not mean our raw materials are non-organic. In some cases, a transfer certificate is not available for small quantities, but we always prioritize sourcing organically grown herbs or herbs harvested from wild forests.

Currently, certified organic Bitter Melon is not available in the market. We have explored every possible source, but this particular crop with certification is difficult to find. However, we have directly connected with small farmers who are now growing Bitter Melon using organic practices. This is what we are currently using.

These are small-scale farms and their production is not at a large enough volume for industrial certification. Due to the cost, scale and extensive documentation required, it is not always feasible for these small farms to obtain organic certification. However, the farmers we work with are ethical and committed to cultivating herbs in a clean, authentic and organic manner—especially when they are fairly compensated for their hard work.

We take great care in sourcing and ensuring the purity and quality of our herbs.

32. How should I measure and take the herbal powders?

Here is a simple dosage guide for our powders:

  • 1 gram = ¼ teaspoon
  • 2 grams = Slightly less than ½ teaspoon
  • 3 grams = ½ teaspoon
  • 5 grams = 1 teaspoon
  • 4 grams = slightly less than 1 teaspoon
  • 250 mg = 1 pinch
  • 500 mg = 2 pinch

We recommend using the powder with 150 ml (approximately 5 to 6 oz) of water consume as directed by your health practitioner.

33. Is turmeric a good overall health supplement and is it good for anti aging and longevity too?

Turmeric has been used since ancient times as a spice for cooking, but recent scientific studies have found numerous health benefits. Yes, it is true that turmeric is a super spice and a powerful herbal remedy for optimum health. However, before using it, please make sure to check if you are allergic or sensitive to any of its components. Also, consider the average safe dose and duration of use, as these can vary depending on region, individual constitution (such as body type, dosha balance), lifestyle and health condition. Certainly, superfoods or supplements like turmeric can contribute to a longer, healthier and higher-quality life.

34. Is the rose powder in capsules? Also I want to make sure I buy rose powder that is not in capsules and is edible.

Our Rose Powder is not in capsule form — it is in pure powder form, made from rose petals. It is commonly used for both external and internal purposes, though as mentioned on the label, it is primarily intended for external use.

In fact, until now, most of our customers have used it externally, and we haven’t received specific inquiries about internal consumption before — so this is also a new area for us.

That said, these are natural rose flowers, and yes, they can be consumed in small amounts internally. You can strain them in tea or use them in a decoction. However, please note that we do not hold full clearance for recommending it solely for internal use — and we suggest proceeding cautiously.

As advised by our Ayurveda doctors:

  • Start with a very small amount (like a pinch in tea).
  • Observe how your body reacts.
If it suits you, you can gradually increase the quantity, but always mindfully and slowly, as every body responds differently.

35. Well, I had bought a whole bunch of bags of Aparajita from that other company I posted above – I wanted it for third eye opening intuition chakra opening and thus spiritual awakening or ascent – so sure, send me more information, especially in Ayurveda/Hindu terms.thnx!

Aparajita alone won’t “open” the intuition Chakra overnight, its integration into a holistic lifestyle — including meditation, mindful eating, breathwork and inner reflection — can support intuition, clarity and spiritual perception. Make decoction of aparajita and drink it daily.

36. I had a question about the Triphala Guggulu’s efficacy vs Tudca for people who have got their gallbladder removed, as far as a digestive enzyme for fats, in lieu of oxbile and others. Do you know if it works better than Tudca? Thank you 🙏

As per our Ayurvedic Vaidyas recommendation, rather than Triphala Guggulu, you should consider taking our Digestive Care and Livrol Forte. These two formulations are specifically designed to support liver function and improve fat digestion and they are considered to be equally effective as TUDCA, especially in Ayurvedic practice.

37. I am looking Bhumiamlaki power previously bought organic, right now I didn’t see organic. It is out of stock or discontinued?

Regarding Organic Products, the product is not discontinued and we understand your concern about the ” organic ” label not being visible at the moment.

Due to recent regulatory amendments, it is now mandatory for the importer to have valid organic certification in order to import and label products as organic. The importer’s certification file is still under process. This is the reason the product is currently not labelled as “organic” on the website.

However, please be assured that the product remains the same and is organically produced. During this interim period, although we cannot label it as organic for import.

59. Hi I am an ayurvedic practitioner who sent a link for bala powder from your website to a client to purchase. She did so and the bala powder arrived and it says on the front of the package for external use only. Can you please tell me more about why that disclaimer is there? Thank you.

Bala is not cleared for sale in the USA for either internal or external use. Therefore, in the USA, we recommend Bala for external use only, as it contains ephedrine, even though in a very small quantity. The guidelines are not clearly defined, but Bala is commonly used in other oils and external formulations. However, the same Bala is used for internal consumption in India.

64. Why doesn’t your powder dissolve in water so quicky? And why is that a good thing?🌿

We sieve our powders through a fine sieve – so most of the heavy fiber stays out, but the potent part of the herb stays IN.
This keeps the powder strong, effective and easy to mix in warm water or smoothies.
But if we used a coarse sieve (moti channi), the fiber content would be much higher and the powder wouldn’t be as potent — just bulky.
So nope, it doesn’t dissolve like sugar.
Because it’s NOT sugar. It’s the real, raw plant in your cup. 🌿

65. I want to know if your packaging contains microplastics.

Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I’m happy to clarify! 😊
Our packaging does not contain microplastics. Our packaging is BPA-free and made from 2 HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) bottles, which are generally considered a good option for packaging herbal products. HDPE is a food-grade, non-toxic plastic that offers excellent protection against moisture, light and contaminants, helping to preserve the quality and efficacy of herbal products. It is also durable, lightweight and recyclable.

If you have any more questions regarding our products or packaging, feel free to ask.
Your feedback means a lot to us! 🌿

66. Can a few drops of babchi be used directly on my cheek? I have multiple sclerosis pre-existing condition will I have any problems?

No — Babchi (Bakuchi) oil is not recommended in such conditions.

67. Do your oils come in plastic or glass bottles?

Our oils come in PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) bottles, which we’ve carefully chosen to ensure both quality and convenience for our customers. PET bottles are lightweight and durable, so you don’t have to worry about breakage like with glass. They’re also food-grade safe and non-reactive, which means our oils stay pure and uncontaminated—just the way nature intended!

Another reason we prefer PET is that it acts as a great barrier against moisture and air, helping to lock in the freshness, aroma and benefits of the oils for a longer time. And the best part is PET bottles are 100% recyclable, making them a more environmentally friendly choice.

We truly believe that combining safety, quality and sustainability gives you the best experience with our products. If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out—we’re always here to help!

69. Hello which varuna is for kidney problems? your root powder or your bark powder? or are they the same? thanks

Bark and root are generated by the same vascular cells. However, bark is usually thinner, while the root is the woody part of the plant. Despite these differences, the benefits remain the same.

wild forests to bring you herbs just the way nature intended. Every ingredient we use is fresh,
clean and unprocessed. This not only preserves the natural strength and effectiveness of the
herbs, but also supports sustainable farming and fair trade practices.

72. My tracking says its delivered but did not received parcel yet

We’re sorry to hear that your tracking shows “delivered,” but you haven’t received the parcel yet. Sometimes, when the postman or delivery person picks up all the parcels from the main facility and scans them into their system, it may show as “delivered,” even though the actual delivery takes a few more hours or even 1–2 days. This usually happens because the package remains in the delivery vehicle for a while before being dropped off. In the meantime, we kindly request you to check your mailbox, around your property, with your neighbours, building manager (if applicable), local postman or even your nearest post office. Most likely, the package will arrive very soon. Please don’t worry — you’ll definitely receive it. If not, we’re right here to assist you further!

73. Do you have discounts for International orders on shipping? Please help!

We would like to inform you that we do not offer any discount coupons on shipping for international orders. This is because the shipping charges we apply are already reduced — they cover only a portion of the actual shipping cost.

We aim to provide this as a gesture of goodwill to ensure customer satisfaction, despite the high costs associated with international shipping. Most of the time, the shipping fee we charge is actually less than what we pay.

74. Yes! I’m looking for high quality Bhumi Amla. I see on the labeling of one of your products, the name “Bhumi Amalaki”. Is this Bhumi Amalaki one-in-the-same with Bhumi Amla? If Not, what’s the difference? For your further information, I’m looking to be proactive, in maintaining my live, and kidney health. I don’t have any liver, or kidney disease, and want to keep it that way. I do know that a significant contributor to good health, is a healthy diet, and I’m already addressing that.

Yes — Bhumi Amla and Bhumi Amalaki are the same herb (Phyllanthus niruri). They’re just different names used in Ayurveda, but both refer to the same plant known for supporting liver and kidney health 🌿

Really great to hear that you’re focusing on prevention and overall wellness — diet plus the right herbs can make a big difference! 💚

Also, just to share — we’ve been offering high-quality Indian herbs for a long time, even before they became popular. Bhumi Amla is one of our best-selling products, and we’re proud to offer it in premium quality, ultra-cleaned, and carefully processed to retain its full potency.

While many brands sell this herb now, we’ve been trusted by customers for years, and our quality speaks for itself
