Shilajit Processing and Purification Method
Processing of Raw Shilajit
Raw shilajit arrives at our processing facility in the form of large stones. We first break them into smaller pieces. Then, we boil triphala (a blend of amla, haritaki and bibhitaki). This boiled mixture is poured into a vessel containing the raw shilajit granules.
This process is repeated 3–4 times. Each day, mud and dust settle at the bottom of the vessel and the top layer (containing purified shilajit) is collected. The remaining sediment and impurities are discarded. The filtered liquid is transferred to another vessel and slowly heated over low heat.
Over several days, it thickens gradually. This thicker part can be dried to obtain powder or it can be kept in liquid or paste form. Once fully dried, it becomes powder. The remaining part is a thick paste or semi-solid resin, which is commonly sold in the market today.
Earlier, shilajit resin was mostly consumed in capsule or powder form. Today, we offer all three forms: capsule, powder and liquid paste. Regardless of the form, the base shilajit remains the same.
Method of Purification (Water-Based or Triphala-Based Purification)
Some people may use only water to purify and cook shilajit. To dry the product, they often use binding agents like talcum powder or other fillers.
Our Methods – Triphala Microfine Powder Drying
We use a microfine powder of triphala to dry the shilajit. Triphala is a combination of three fruits: amla, haritakiand bibhitaki. It is known for its high fiber content and water-absorbing ability.
Triphala is also recognized in Ayurveda as balancing the three doshas: vata(Air), pitta(Fire) and kapha(Earth), which helps neutralize any potential side effects of shilajit for all body types.
Purification Using Triphala Water
We boil triphala and use the distilled water to purify the shilajit. This water contains natural fiber, which also acts as a drying agent. This method eliminates the need for artificial drying agents. Since triphala is a natural herb, it helps extract the hidden properties of raw shilajit and enhances its potency and safety.
Alcohol-Based Purification (Used by Some Companies)
Some companies use alcohol and mechanical methods to purify shilajit. However, alcohol is not universally preferred, as some people may react negatively to it. In contrast, water-based purification using triphala is widely accepted and considered safe.
Conclusion
Our shilajit is purified using triphala water, making it safe, potent and well-balanced, with no binders, additives, fillers, chemicals or artificial drying agents. It is completely plant-based and suitable for human consumption. We offer shilajit in capsule, powder and resin (liquid/paste) forms, ensuring purity and quality in every product.
